CAROLYN J. NEWMAN, CPA.CITP, CISA

Carolyn is president and co-founder of Audimation Services, Inc., the US distributor of CaseWare IDEA – data analysis software. She owned a public accounting practice from 1990 – 2002, and is a former Regional Technical Director of Computer Auditing for an international accounting firm. Her duties included developing IT Audit training courses and consulting with audit teams on developing effective audit tests that made use of data extraction software. She is a frequent speaker on the subject of computer assisted audit techniques, and recruits subject-matter experts to provide training and seminars on IDEA, internal auditing, fraud detection, sampling and continuous controls monitoring.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Lutheran College, and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Houston.

She is a member of the AICPA, Texas Society of CPAs, Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA), The Institute of Internal Auditors, and The Institute of Management Accountants. She is also active with the Executive Advisory Council for Texas Lutheran University’s business school; chaired the Business and Industry committee of the Houston Chapter of TSCPA and currently serves as treasurer of St. Cuthbert Episcopal Church.

Mark Mayberry, CPA, CITP, CISA, CIDA
Director, Assurance Office of Tomorrow

Mark is Director, Assurance Office of Tomorrow with the Global Assurance Department of BDO where he leads the International data analytics program. In his 30+ years in public accounting, Mark has provided accounting, auditing and information systems assurance services to diverse group of private and publically held companies. Mark’s information systems assurance experience includes reviews of sophisticated computer environments, e-Commerce systems, and network systems. He has also provided in-depth reviews of automated accounting systems including packaged applications and in-house developed software. He also performs data extraction from information systems for detailed and summarized statistical data analyses.
Mark has conducted educational programs domestically and internationally within BDO focusing on the efficient and effective application of the Firm’s audit methodology and electronic tools as well as actively promoting the use of data analytics to enable teams to perform efficient and effective audits. He is a speaker at various AICPA and ISACA conferences on the topic of data analytics and the impact on the profession. He has served on a number of domestic and International BDO committees and task forces developing audit software, audit methodology, and audit automation techniques.

Mark is currently a member of the AICPA Assurance Services Executive Committee (ASEC) Emerging Assurance Technologies Task Force. He is also a member of the IAASB Data Analytics Project Advisory Panel. He has previously served on other AICPA committees and task forces including: AICPA Assurance Services Executive Committee (ASEC), Information Management and Technology Assurance Executive Committee, CITP Credential Committee, Information Technology Research Sub-Committee, Sampling Guide Task Force, Top Technology Initiatives Task Force and the Member Advisory Panel. Mark received the 2011 IDEA User of Excellence Award.
