NYPN: The Pirate CPA: Leadership, Teamwork and Balance in Dangerous Times (151007-12)

Description

In these times, a pirate is viewed both as horror on the high seas and
Hollywood hero. Neither would seem to be good model for CPAs. Yet, if we
remove the murder and mayhem, the swashbuckling pirates of old could
teach us many a lesson no living and working together under stress.
Perhaps that’s why, in today’s demanding and constantly changing world,
the pirate stand out as an historical figure.

The purpose of this course is not to make heroes out of villains;
instead, it takes a look at the core principles that pirates used to
survive and thrive despite difficult obstacles – both internal and
external. The pirates discovered the secrets of camaraderie, equality,
freedom, living in the moment and traveling light. This course is
designed to be a good-humored approach to finding balance, flexibility
and cooperation in our firms and companies…because we’re all in the same
boat.
