Financial oversight is a key responsibility of nonprofit boards, but
many board members do not have understanding of financial statements and
react to figures by getting into the weeds of line items or
rubberstamping anything which seems to pass muster with staff or the
Treasurer. How can you equip a board with the ability to comprehend
monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
This session is aimed at staff, Treasurers, or CPAs who need to convey
nonprofit financials in a manner which helps the board make informed
decisions in their financial oversight role. It will include an overview
of key financial statements (budgets, balance sheets, income statements,
cash flows, and how these statements relate to Form 990) and how you can
explain these statements both to give a snapshot of where a nonprofit
has been and an indication of future trends and outlooks
