MacGyvering: The Art of Being Resourceful in a Crisis (17W335-12)

Description

Angus MacGyver, the TV secret agent of the late 80s and early 90s,
somehow always managed to extricate himself from crises using only his
trusty Swiss Army Knife, duct tape, paper clips and his wits.
“MacGyvering” involves applying the very useful approach of this
mythical hero. In today’s “do-more-with-less” business environment, he
is the model for the resourcefulness firms and clients often demand from
CPAs. Taught by a Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School adjunct
faculty member with more than 30 years of experience in communication,
marketing and resourcefulness, this highly interactive course will
utilize many creative exercises and give you the tools to be more
resourceful in difficult situations.

Learning Objectives
  1. Develop a belief that no problem is unsolvable, no matter how dire it seems
  2. Keep a cool head - and use it to understand clearly what is happening
  3. Boost creativity
  4. Tap often-unnoticed and unexpected resources
  5. Learn to fix it - fast
