Have you been called to testify in court. Would you like to know what to
expect before you have to take that first deposition or the stand This
event will present an interactive “mock” deposition and trial to help
you understand what really goes on when you are asked to testify as a
damages expert. You will gain an understanding of the strategies used in
deposition and how they carry over to the testimony at trial. In
addition, you will learn what to look out for and what not to forget.
This unique event will provide useful training for CPA’s who find
themselves in the courtroom defending their opinions regarding a
valuation or other consulting engagement. If you are an attorney or law
student, you can gain unique insight and education on what CPA’s do to
provide assistance in litigation and why it is important to hire an
expert with the proper credentials (i.e., ABV, ASA, CVA, CFE) and
experience.
The session will include a teaching lunch for a total of 7 hours of CPE
– Stevenson University will provide a special lunch speaker! A judge
will be presiding and the attorneys are Jim Astrachan, Esq., Jefferson
Wright, Esq., and Todd Reinecker, Esq. The experts will include Joel
Charkatz, CPA, CVA, CFE of KatzAbosch and Mark Norris, CPA/ABV, CVA,
CFFA, ASA of Tucker and Meltzer.
