Join us as we explore and update the significant and complex accounting
and auditing changes from GASB and FASB, with the national and local
leaders that know them best.
We start the day with a critical look at what every state and local
government entity that provides retirement benefits must begin reporting
in 2015. GASB Chair David Vaudt will provide an oveview of the new
standards and takeaways to help implement and communicate the
fundamental change and risk in how to account for the cost of these
benefits on financial statements. Chairman Vaudt will be followed by a
panel of local auditors and financial statement preparers sharing their
experiences and insights.
After an update on the quality issues facing the profession from AICPA
Chair Bill Balhoff at lunch, the afternoon will focus on key and
emerging issues in accounting and auditing including the developments
from the Private Company Council, an Auditing Standards Board update,
real life implementation of the Reporting Framework for Small- and
Medium Sized Entitities, how practice monitoring may change and what the
future holds for users, preparers and auditors of small businesses.
Join us for presentations from leaders in the profession to hear their
insight on all of these issues. This event will also offer you the
opportunity to collaborate with these leaders and walk away with a game
plan of your own. This program qualifies for YellowBook (4 hrs.)
