The MACPA Foundation: In Pursuit of a Stronger, More Diverse CPA Profession
The MACPA Foundation works to build a strong and diverse talent pipeline with resources for future CPAs and educators, supporting diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, providing training, granting scholarships and facilitating mentorship connections in order to increase growth and engagement.
Through the support of donations, MACPA is able to provide numerous scholarships to Accounting students on their way to achieving fulfilling careers as CPAs. The future of our profession relies on the generosity of our community, helping upcoming professionals build a bright path ahead.
Students can submit an application until April 15, 2022; scholarship winners will be announced within the following month. A past scholarship recipient and current Tax Associate at CLA in Baltimore, Angelina Appiah, shares the impact the MACPA Foundation has had on her, personally:
Support from the MACPA organization has been one of the most influential factors in my aspiring CPA journey, especially to meet Maryland’s CPA exam education requirements and invest in CPA study materials. The MACPA scholarship and other programs such as the Student Leadership Academy contributed in the success to further achieve elements of my bigger goal. My goal is to advance my financial skills and capabilities in order to help leaders and their communities manage financial resources and build financial well-being.
I believe the best potential is unleashed after the transition from surviving to thriving. Once people have the ability to manifest their dreams into reality, positive contributions can be prevalent; because creativity and diversity in thought, character, and skill is our power.
