We’ve spent a lot of time here breaking down XBRL and its potential benefits — including this comprehensive podcast interview with Mike Willis, co-founder of XBRL International, who outlined the nuts and bolts of XBRL (and who will do so again at the upcoming Maryland Business and Accounting Expo).

Now, XBRL is taking on YouTube as well.

A Japanese organization called JustSystems has produced a video titled “XBRL in Plain English,” which explains the concept in easy-to-understand details. Check it out here:

Easy, huh? Who knew? (And in case you’re wondering, the video is NOT the product of The Common Craft Show, which has produced videos with titles like “RSS in Plain English,” “Wikis in Plain English” and “Social Media in Plain English.” The style is very similar, though.)
