All this talk lately about a staffing crisis might have led some to believe that CPAs would always be able to find jobs, no matter what the situation.

Will a recession change all of that?

CFO.com’s Tim Reason is trying to find out. Reason recently examined “the potential impact of a recession on each finance function: tax, internal audit, treasurer, and controller, as well as the prospects for finance employees in general, and, yes, for the CFO. “

His conclusions? Tax experts, internal auditors and treasurers are essentially recession-proof. Controller and CFOs, however, might be more at risk for job cuts in the event of a recession. Find out why by reading Reason’s article.
