Granted, there's not much funny about tax season.
But it's April 15, people! Loosen up a little. Take a break, crack open a beer and check out some of these spirited (albeit occasionally lame) attempts at tax season humor.
- Humor Hotlines has launched a pair of “IRS Tax Extension Help Lines.” Fair warning: One of them (267-436-5139) is rated PG, and the other (631-403-2025) is rated R. But both are pretty funny.
- David Letterman has compiled his annual CPA-related Top Ten List. This year, it's “Top Ten Thoughts That Go Through Every Accountant's Mind on April 15th.” Another fair warning: This list barely registers as funny, but it'll kill some time.
- SomeEcards has an entire section devoted to tax season. Some of my favorites are here, here and here.
Got any good tax season jokes of your own? Share them in the “Comments” section, then tell us how you're going to celebrate the end of busy season.
UPDATE: You can celebrate the end of tax season by taking advantage of these “freebie” offerings from the likes of Cinnabon, Maggie Moo's, Starbucks, Boston Market and P.F. Chang's. (Thanks to the MACPA's Jeannie Richardson for the heads-up!)
