I’m rarely the first in line for the newest, coolest gadget, but I can’t wait to get my hands on the BlackBerry Storm.

BlackBerry’s answer to the iPhone is set for release on Nov. 21, and the early word is the Storm is going to give Apple a run for its touch-screen money.

As usual, early adopter Chris Jenkins of the Ohio Society of CPAs has the scoop on the Storm and other high-profile gadgets. He offers his opinions in this blog post. Chris?

BlackBerry Bold
I’ve been waiting since July to get my hands on this sleek new BlackBerry, and I’m still waiting. I’m not surprised that it’s been delayed. BlackBerry users expect perfection and RIM tries to consistently deliver.

With any luck, AT&T will be able to begin shipping the device this month. Beyond the handsome redesign, the Bold offers enhanced browsing, a 2 MP camera, Wi-Fi and faster performance. The rumored price is $299. A full spec sheet can be found here.

BlackBerry Storm
Touting a “SurePress touch screen,” the BlackBerry Storm is a completely new entry in the Blackberry lineup. SurePress is unlike other touch screens because of its unique style of tactile feedback.  A subtle “click” lets you know when a letter or item has been pressed.

Designed as a world phone, the device functions on multiple cellular networks. It also includes an enhanced media player, Web browser and a 3.5 MP camera. The rumored price is $199. A full spec sheet can be found here.

Treo Pro
Sold only as an unlocked GSM phone, the Treo Pro isn’t married to any network. The Treo Pro runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and combines a touch screen and keyboard. It features a 2.0 MP camera, chat-style SMS and a removable battery.

Priced at $549, the Pro is the top-of-the-line Treo. Full Specs can be found here.

HTC Touch Pro
A slider phone with style, while thick, the Touch is elegant and functional. Emulating a full five-row PC keyboard, the touch has smaller-than-average keys. The TouchFLO interface enhances the navigation of Windows Mobile 6.1.

The Touch Pro features a 2.8-inch screen, 3.2 MP camera, Wi-Fi and GPS. Sold by Sprint for $299, full specs can be found here.
