In the fast-approaching future, successful CPAs must be leaders. Leadership Academy is the starting point for unlocking the full potential in the profession’s best and brightest young CPAs. This three-day event is cited by past participants as an invaluable boost to their careers.

Our NEW Town Hall experience brings you a series of unique events, each one exploring a different professional trend or issue. We invite you to attend as many as you can to gain invaluable insight into a wide variety of timely issues. Also, you’ll earn one hour of CPE in Specialized Knowledge. All events are offered online for your convenience!
The AICPA’s Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee (WIEC) initiated the Women to Watch Awards Program in partnership with several state CPA societies to honor outstanding women in the profession. The MACPA has held a Women to Watch awards breakfast each year since 2014. Highlighting and celebrating the accomplishments of women in the profession, the event demonstrates to emerging leaders that success is not out of reach.

The Newly-Licensed CPA Swearing-In Ceremony is the marquee event to formally recognize and welcome new CPAs to the profession. Our annual event celebrates the accomplishments and certification of Maryland CPAs across the state. New CPAs will receive a formal invitation to join and organizations will be given the opportunity to be a part of the event to advocate for staff and the future of the profession.

The CPA #FutureReady Summit is a one-day event where CPAs learn from the most important voices in the profession, as well as the cutting-edge innovators pushing the profession forward. Topics include leadership, technology, trends, and emerging professional issues. This interactive event is the CPA event of the year.
For our legislative efforts to succeed, we need the voice and participation of our members. Our biggest opportunity for member involvement in legislative advocacy is our annual CPA Day in Annapolis during Maryland’s legislative session. On CPA Day, we gather to assemble a policy agenda and then meet face-to-face with our delegates and senators to discuss the issues that impact our profession. CPA Day is free to attend for members and participants are eligible for 2 CPE credits.
At the Student Leadership Academy, participants will receive a unique orientation to the CPA profession, network with leaders in the profession, and experience an in-depth look at their unique skills and strengths.

The annual MACPA Beach Retreat is a CPE experience that’s unlike any other. Network with fellow leaders in the profession and enjoy the beautiful Ocean City beach & boardwalk. Young Professionals can attend the Emerging Leaders Track where they will be immersed in sessions to further their innovation, leadership, business development, and goal setting. Members are also encouraged to bring families and make Beach Retreat part of a working vacation. Multiple courses are offered every day of the retreat, and participants are invited to take as many (or as few) sessions as they like.
