Oath

Maryland CPAs have protected the public interest for more than 100 years. Now, they have an oath that reinforces that responsibility and recognizes them for their extraordinary contributions to the public good.

A new tradition was born on Sept. 24 , when nearly 40 CPAs became the first to take the new oath in a ceremony in Annapolis. The oath will become an annual event for newly licensed Maryland CPAs.

“Tonight reminds us that we must never take for granted our obligation as certified public accountants,” said Art Flach, vice chair of the MACPA’s Board of Directors. “The ‘public’ stands for our commitment to protect the public interest we are licensed to serve.”
