Meet The Accounting Crows, billed as “Connecticut’s only CPA rock ‘n roll band.” Consisting of CPAs Alan Friedman, Mike Fortunato and Reed Risteen and Connecticut Society of CPAs Public Affairs Director Mark Zampino, the Crows “rock, they roll, they audit, they do taxes, and they’ll even play your next party, business function, wedding, bar mitzvah or IRS audit,” according to their Web site. And of course, they do a dead-on cover of The Beatles’ classic “Taxman.”
If you like your CPA-based rock ‘n roll a little closer to home, give Several Species a try. The Baltimore-based Pink Floyd cover band features MACPA member Chris Scholtes on lead guitar. The band often appears at Towson’s Recher Theatre.
