Did you hear the one about the boss who had no sense of humor?
No? I’m not surprised. According to a new survey, nearly 90 percent of workers surveyed say their bosses have a good sense of humor. Not only that, 97 percent said a good sense of humor is either a “very” or “somewhat” important characteristic for a manager to have.
“Managers who can laugh at themselves or difficult situations are often seen as more approachable and in touch with the challenges their teams face,” said Max Messmer, chair and CEO of Robert Half International. “Levity also can be used to build rapport among staff and ease stressful situations.”
Now, be honest: Can your boss take a joke?
