The MACPA is excited to announce the first-ever MACPA Student Leadership Academy, bringing together the state’s top accounting students, preparing them for the workplace, and introducing them to the profession. The three-day program, scheduled for June 25-27 at Towson University, will use components of the Business Learning Institute’s Leadership Academy to engage and help prepare the future of the profession in Maryland.
Students selected to participate will enjoy three days of learning and networking with the profession’s top leaders.
- MACPA CEO Tom Hood, the fourth most influential person in accounting as named by Accounting Today, will lead the program and walk the students through a unique orientation to the profession.
- BLI thought leader Courtney Kirschbaum will set them up for success with her Success Factor for Millennials workshop.
- Using BLI’s Insights to Action strategic thinking process and Gallup’s Strength Finder, I2A facilitators will guide the students through an exercise in which they will discover their unique strengths and how they fit within the profession.
- Finally, students will learn best practices in preparing for the CPA exam, business etiquette, and the wide range of opportunities for CPAs.
The program, assessments, food, and lodging are all free to those selected to participate. To apply, visit www.macpa.org/studentacademy
