Accenture calls them “finance masters.” Business Finance calls them “finance ninjas.”
Whatever you call them, they’re the world’s highest-performing finance organizations, and according to the Accenture white paper “The Changing Role of the Finance Organization in a Multi-Polar World: Accenture High Performance Finance Study 2008,” they’re doing a lot things that the rest of the finance world is not, including these:
- They’re focused on strategic, not operational, details.
- They’re much more likely to take on advanced initiatives in areas like risk management, enterprise peformance management, and standardization of finance processes.
- They’re twice as likely to adopt best practices in areas like training, innovation and talent selection.
- They focus on creating value.
