More honors have been handed down to Maryland CPAs, this time courtesy of the AICPA.
Three MACPA members are among the 20 young CPAs nationwide to be given the AICPA’s Forensic and Valuation Services Standing Ovation award.
The award “recognizes young professionals for contributions made to accounting specialty areas (and) their individual communities,” according to Accounting Today. The winners were announced at the AICPA Forensic and Valuation Services Conference in Las Vegas.
The Maryland winners were:
- Joshua Downey, CPA, of SC&H Group in Sparks
- B. Steven Purdy, CPA, of Aronson, LLC, in Rockville
- Marylee Robinson, CPA, of Stout Risius Ross in Baltimore
“These energetic young CPAs are generating positive results in their practice areas and moving the accounting profession forward,” Jeannette Koger, the AICPA’s vice president of Advisory Services and Credentialing, said in a statement. “They are high performers in the specialty areas of forensic accounting and business valuation, and they provide exemplary service to their employers, peers, and communities.”
